The news is never too late if you have never read it, so guess what mywatchlinks fans Fox's 2016 Deadpool Movie will be Rated-R, meaning it's going to [email protected]#king rock. For those of you that are not not well informed you might possibly be asking yourself :
1. Who the fack is Deadpool.
2. What's Rated-R?
To answer your questions Deadpool my friends is this guy:
Deadpool aka Wade Winston Wilson is a fictional anti-hero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Originally he was as a maniacal supervillain is his first appearance in the 1991 X-Men spin-off New mutants, later on Deadpool broke his way into comic book pop cultural when they rewrote him as trash talking, crazy anti-hero much like the Punisher. Now he is a disfigured and mentally unstable mercenary with the superhuman ability of an accelerated healing factor much like Wolverine. He is known as the "Merc with a Mouth" because of his talkative nature and tendency to break the fourth wall, which is used by writers to humorous effect. The character was portrayed by Ryan Reynolds in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, who will reprise the role in Deadpool, set to be released on February 12, 2016.
Now that we know who the character is why is this movie such a big deal to comic book fans?
After the disappointing take that fans were given of Deadpool in the X-Men Origins; Wolverine Movie, Fox with a little push from Ryan Reynolds decided that is was time to cash in on the current superhero craze that is now sweeping Hollywood. The current premise of the film is that," After former Special Forces operative Wade Wilson is subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, he adopts the alter ego Deadpool to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life, all with a dark, twisted sense of humor."
Definitely a movie like this is gonna need:
1. A lot of shooting
2. Dismembered body parts / gore
5. Lots of f%#cking violence.
Where was I now? Oh yeah! What does it mean to be R-Rated. According to the Motion Picture Association of America, R-Rated means
R – Restricted
Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian. Contains some adult material. Parents are urged to learn more about the film before taking their young children with them.
So how many comic book movies have done this in the past?
Well there's : 300 (2006), Sin City (2005), Wanted (2008), V for Vendetta (2005), The Punisher (2004), Watchmen (2009), Constantine (2005) and the list goes on, but just to be safe check this list out on IDMB.
